Explore Gakugei-daigaku: A Town’s Identity Shaped by Light
In 2024, the Gakugei-daigaku area was the only Japanese location to make it onto Time Out‘s “World’s Coolest Streets” ranking, landing at number 15. This neighborhood is a fascinating mix of old and new: it has a traditional shopping street that attracts people of all ages, but also features trendy restaurants located under the recently developed elevated train tracks and scattered throughout the area.
This event will explore how the unique lighting of Gakugei-daigaku contributes to the town’s distinct atmosphere.
