A bus stand away from the city
June 20, 2023. Hakone, Japan.
A lot is going on here – the red and green glow from the traffic lights, the amber showers from nearby roadway poles, the deep blue sky, some sparkles in the background , even a rude beam of headlights from the traffic mirror, and eventually our protagonist today, a quiet bus stop shelter.
A calm, almost uninvited cool blue light spills out of the entrance and cascades down the road, penetrating the gentle warm-yellow atmosphere as I walk uphill.
However, as I get closer to the shelter the color rendering quality from the cool light kicks in and washes out the fatigue from an amber-soaked environment from my soring eyes. I begin to appreciate these lights.
At least for one, it surely stands out in darkness as a bus stop.
